Daily Lessons from Life 24 June 2014 - LGBTs in Singapore

"Church must work with like-minded groups to oppose Pink Dot: Pastor Kong of the Faith Community Baptist Church  - TODAY 24 June 2014

Various faith groups, such as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Catholic Church, have expressed their positions on the LGBT movement in recent days.

Weighing in on the issue, Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Mr Yaacob Ibrahim, had said those who want to express support for a cause or lifestyle choice should express it in a way that does not divide the community. He added that differences in society had always existed, but Singaporeans must not forget “to keep the social fabric as tight as possible”."

"Vincent Wijeysingha accuses Catholic priest of attempted molest at age 15 - The Straits Times Jun 24, 2014

SINGAPORE - Social activist Vincent Wijeysingha has accused a Catholic priest of trying to molest him when he was a teenager, in a strongly-worded Facebook post on Monday night that attacked the Catholic Church and its stand on homosexuality."

This debate just would not go away. Would it? Oh, for the uninitiated: 'LGBT means: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender'.

The L & G is easy to understand. As for the B and T, B to some means: L&G who dare not 'come out of the closet' i.e. declare publicly that he is a G or she is a L and live a double life if you like. The T are those who acted out their 'inner' sexuality orientation. Hence you see a female L acting and dressing like a real male while a male G acting and dressing like a real female. This is what I found out googling the term: LGBT.

Pastor Kong has been known to be against Gays as he see it as un-Christian. Vincent is an out-of-closet gay who had tried his hands at politics in the last GE2011.

Lessons for me are:

1. is it natural for human being of the same gender to mate and hope to produce an offspring? The answer is quite clearly: NO. So, on the science and factual basis, it is UNNATURAL for a man to marry a man and a woman to marry a woman and have the 'husband and wife' thingy. Let's be clear about this;

2. However, there are supposedly real cases of human being born with the make-up of their other gender. These with medical help and surgeries were able to transform their gender. Some even had babies after become a female when born a male and vice versa. For this group of people, they were trying to be NATURAL. Restored to what they should be. Restored to the natural state. So, they can have a husband or a wife of opposite gender properly;

3. for those who are physically one gender or the other but the emotional make-up for whatever reasons, or reasons unclear to the medical experts, prefer to 'love and mate' with another person of the same gender. This is UNNATURAL.

As society become more open. The lifestyle choice seems to be more acceptable in certain societies and countries. It has not been a majority in most places. So, it has not overturned the natural order of 'man mates woman and have babies' and not the 'babies through test tubes or adoption by LGBT couples - married or unmarried'.

For me, as long as it is NOT force upon those who prefer the 'natural way' it is OK. However, to say that the naturalists are WRONG will be taking it too far.

It is ok to live, study, play (not of the sexual kind) and work with talented LGBTs. That's all it is.

If nature is not allow to continue, something is really wrong.

Will it DIVIDE the communities? Not if everyone has an open mind and it is in the minority and want to exist harmoniously with the non-LGBTs!
