"Hospital claims that Facebook account of staff with anti-Singaporean comments 'hacked' AsiaOne Sunday, Jan 04, 2015

SINGAPORE - Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) has said that one of its staff has reported to the police that his Facebook account was hacked, after anti-Singaporean comments that was posted on the profile were circulated widely by enraged Singaporeans.

A screenshot of the comments, posted under the Facebook profile of one "Edz Ello", has been circulating online. In it, the user called Singaporeans "loosers (losers) in their own country" and vowed to "take their jobs, their future, their women". He also said that he "will be praying that disators (disasters) strike Singapore".

In a Facebook post on Sunday, TTSH said that the staff is "one of our nurses" and that "he has reported to the police that his Facebook account has been hacked". The hospital had posted earlier in the day that it "expect our staff to be respectful and professional. Rest assured we are looking into this", in response to netizens who alerted them to the post."

Just as you thought the sparring between foreigners and Singaporeans are OVER and this sprung up!

Lessons for me are:

1. has the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and any other laws being broken by the hackers who hacked into the concerned 'one of our nurses of TTSH' even when the original comments posted were pretty bad for friendly co-existence between the foreigners and locals? Is his FB private posting a PRIVATE matter?;

2. why would someone in the healthcare industry taking care of our patients, granted these include other foreigners as well besides sick Singaporean, make such hateful comments about Singaporeans? What is his MENTAL STATE? Is he a danger to the Singaporean patients he comes into contact with? If so, how are the public to know? what screening for mental stability of foreign healthcare workers should the MOH and the hospitals adopt to catch the 'just-in-case some foreign healthcare workers REALLY LOST it'?;

3. should others from the SAME COUNTRY and in the SAME COMMUNITY speak up to denounce this PARTICULAR bad apple to REASSURE the Singaporean public at large that THIS ONE is an exception, a mutation, a mistake rather than the rule?

Such hidden hatred for the hosts by a foreign worker/talent is disturbing and depressing. Is this going to be a time bomb waiting to go off IF there are MANY MORE like this particular foreigner?

To be honest, if ALL the foreigners have this type of thought about Singaporeans, Singapore will NOT see the next SG50. For sure!! So, beware. Should this particular case be a small thing or should it be TO WAKE US UP? Get to the bottom of this. Measure the mental state of this particular foreigners. Throw the laws at him IF he had committed crimes. In dealing with such cases, sympathy and empathy has NO PLACE.
